What is yoga?

Yoga means to yoke, or unite, the body, mind and spirit. Traditional Hatha yoga, as practiced at the Parkview Center for Healthy Living, is a holistic practice that can include physical strengthening postures (asana), purification techniques, breathing (pranayama), soothing stretches and meditation. Hatha yoga is an effective exercise program that can be used by everyone, regardless of age or ability level. Its effects can be felt after the very first session.
